Prices and booking
How much is a session?
An individual session with Jorge Pastor is €65 and a couples session is €75, at the practice or by video call. Each lasts 60 minutes, you can ask for an invoice, and 4-session packages never expire.
How do I book and how do I pay?
You book through the appointment link and confirm the booking with me on WhatsApp. You can pay online when booking (by card, through SumUp) or at the practice, in cash or by card.
Can I have sessions online?
Yes, all of them. You can choose a video call (Google Meet, Zoom or Teams) or come to the practice in La Laguna. The price is the same.
Do you work with health insurers?
No, I do not work with insurers. You can ask for an invoice for each session.
What if I cannot make it?
Cancelling and letting me know is free, even with less than 24 hours' notice. If you cancel without telling me, there is a €10 surcharge on your next session; if you do not show up, €15. If it is because of illness or an emergency, there is no surcharge. If you have already paid for a single session and cancel, the amount is kept for another date or refunded; packages are non-refundable. Let me know as soon as you can.
First session and process
What will the first session be like?
It lasts 60 minutes. We talk about what worries you and what you would like to achieve, and set goals and lines of work. It is the most important session and you do not need to prepare anything.
How many sessions will I need?
As a guide, around four sessions on average. It depends on each case, your goals and how complex they are: you may need fewer or more. I cannot promise a number, and we review it together as we go.
How often should I come?
The first three sessions are usually weekly. After that we space them out depending on how things evolve, until we move to follow-up sessions.
What is solution-focused brief therapy?
It is an approach that starts from what you want to change, with concrete goals we review at each session. Jorge Pastor holds a master's degree in this therapy (University of La Laguna, 2017).
Do I have to be really struggling to ask for help?
No. Some people come through a hard time, others to understand themselves better or to change something specific. You do not need a diagnosis or a clear idea for the first session.
The practice and trust
Where is the practice?
Jorge Pastor's practice is at Calle Alonso de Castro 3, Of. 303, Edif. Cinelandia, La Cuesta, 38205 San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife). By appointment, in person or by video call.
Are you a registered psychologist?
Yes. Jorge Pastor is a General Health Psychologist (Psicólogo General Sanitario), registered with the Official College of Psychology of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Do you offer sessions in English?
Yes. Jorge Pastor sees clients in Spanish or English, at the practice or by video call.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you share is protected by professional secrecy, with the exceptions set by law. I do not record sessions.
Topics and groups
Do you work with anxiety and stress?
Yes. Anxiety and stress are one of the areas I work on, mainly with adults. We start by understanding what is going on and what you would like to be different, and set concrete goals. I cannot promise results, but I can offer a clear plan.
Do you offer couples therapy?
Yes. A couples session is €75, lasts 60 minutes and can be in person or online. It helps you talk more calmly, make sense of what is happening and agree on concrete next steps. If there is fear or violence in the relationship, it is not the right format: message me and we can talk separately.
Do you work with addictions?
Yes, mainly with adults: medication, drugs, tobacco, alcohol and sex addiction. I take into account any medication you take and coordinate with the other professionals who see you. We start by talking about your situation and what you want to change.
Do you see teenagers?
Yes, from age 13. I ask for the consent of their parents or legal guardians: they need to come to sign it, but they do not have to be present in the first session.
